Peter O'Brien

Peter O’Brien attended O'Connells CBS on the North Circular Road. After completing his Intermediate certificate he left and went to work in Window Display, first in Bests and
later in Arnotts. At 19 Peter moved to London and worked in display in Marshall & Snellgrove (now Debenhams). On the advice of Eve Pollard he applied to Saint Martins School Of Art and was accepted on a foundation course. He completed a 3 year degree course in Fashion Design and graduated with 1st class honours. Peter then completed a year post graduate course at Parsons School Of Design in New York.
Peter’s international experience includes:
1981 design assistant at Christian Dior in Paris
1983/85 Design Asssistant at Givenchy.
1985 Assistant to Guy Paulin at Chloe.
1986 Head of Design Chloe Paris
1988 Artistic Director Goldin Feldman Furriers NYC
1989 / 2004 Artistic Director Rochas Paris
Peter has also designed is own collections including:
2000 - Peter O'Brien Haute Couture Collection Paris.
2004 - Costume design for ‘Lady Windemere's Fan’ at the Gate Theatre Dublin
2005 – Costume design for ‘The Constant Wife’
2006 – Costume design for ‘Private Lives’
